So Marc offered to work on a new blog template for me tonight. After I’ve been hounding him for months to do it. And after Randall said to email him all the details and he’d set it up, since Marc wasn’t doing it fast enough…
Anyway, Marc said he’d do it tonight, so even though he [...]

I took out a novel from the church library on Sunday. I was tired after church and just wanted to lay down in the afternoon and relax and read. Maybe I secretly knew that all I’d have the energy for all week was laying down…
I’ve read a couple of Thomas Kinkade’s (you know, that painter [...]

The other Sunday Marc, for a change, was at music practice, and I was the one getting the kids ready. Luke planted himself firmly in the doorway between the master bath and my bedroom. Ya, I’m not going to be walking there at all. I was in the middle of getting dressed (and probably brushing [...]

This is hard work, this being a woman, a mother. I have a wonderful series of ailments right now, which I will, of course, share with you in great detail.
I’ve had a pain in my chest for a few weeks now. It started right around the time of the inner ear thing. I always think [...]

Last week had way too much stuff in it. Too much stress, too much busyness, too much anxiety until the week’s activities were finally accomplished. And I wonder now, with Marc working at the church and pursuing the pastor thing, if our lives will just always have this level of stress. I’d say about half [...]

Well, I think the concert went fine. The crowd was a little stoic. I told my Pentecostal brother that I’m not used to that in the Covenant church. *cough*cough* (I’m pretty those Swedish Covenanters coined the word stoic.)
All in all, it was a pretty laid back and fun night. My brother and sister-in-laws exceptional musicianship [...]

So my whole family is doing some fundraiser concert in a little town 45 minutes away tonight. My whole family — my folks, my uncle, my brother and sister-in-law, Marc, Madeline and I. We leave in an hour. We’ve had one and a half practices. This week has been crazy. This weekend is crazier. But [...]

I went to Superstore with the kids this morning to try and reach the big amount to get the coupon deal of the week. We were out of cheese, cereal, margarine and a few other ‘big-ticket’ items. I wanted to get a few Christmas presents for the kids so I’d be sure the bill hit [...]

The magic blanket isn’t actually magical; however, one night last week Marc had a dream about Meryl Streep.
Marc and I stayed up too late last night in bed imitating the characters and singing the songs of A Prairie Home Companion (especially Meryl Streep’s character).
Just as we were drifting off Olivia woke up coughing
When Olivia [...]
