It’s 8:15pm, the kids are all settled in bed. Marc was home late from the church, and I decided to start four loads of laundry at 4:30pm. Plus I actually made a real supper tonight. “Why is this interesting?”, you ask. Well, because tomorrow from 2pm to 9 or 10pm, we’re opening our house up. The church, and anyone really, is invited to our place, where Marc and I will attempt to pull off what I’ve described as “Like Randall and Lauralea‘s Open House But The House Is Messier and The Food Won’t Taste As Good”.
So, ya, we’re hosting anywhere from 50 to 70 people in our house tomorrow and I’m not stressed one bit. I’m sitting here writing a post. I’m working on laundry. Marc and I are probably going to watch the last episode of “Lonesome Dove” later. I’ll do a quick swiffer of the floor, move a couple piles of crap, wipe down the main bathroom once more, and then I’ll go to bed. In the morning I’ll take out all the baking I’ve made and froze over the past week, I’ll cut up some cheese, make some punch and cider (I’ve never made cider before…), and set out whatever else needs to be set out. And the people will come and what they see is what they get. And I actually do not care that our house is not going to be spotless. I am not stressed in the slightest. And that is such a huge thing for me. I could get used to this.
Our house. Tomorrow. Drop by anytime between 2:00pm and 9:00pm. And we may have duelling webcams with the Friesens, though their party starts an hour later because of the time change. These party webcams are pretty fun. Go here if you want to see my Olivia belly at their 2006 Open House.
