Now that we’re here and settled and our old house in PA is officially someone else’s, we are trying to sort out our finances. We got our last PA water bill yesterday and the last power and energy bills should be on their way soon.
Which brings me to the good thing about living in a trailer: Cost of Living.
Our house in PA has sat vacant for the past month, yet our bills were as follows:
Power: $80.95; Energy: $40.08; Water: $95.78; Property tax: $280.00
The bills for the trailer that has been lived in the past month:
Power: $23.07; Energy: $17.09; Lease of land, property tax & water (the same every month): $100.00
Vacant house = $496.81
Occupied trailer = $140.16
You can also add our mortgage payment onto the house costs, which we don’t have in the trailer. And you’ll see why I’m very glad to be living in a trailer these days. It’ll help with paying things like tuition and books and gas to the next town whenever we need to get groceries.
