This was Olivia and I at lunch today. She came inside before the other kids and was really hungry, so we snuggled up on the couch and she ate while I read to her from the book I’m currently reading: Julia Child’s “My Life in France”. I’m really enjoying it. (Olivia’s enjoying it too. I read it to her this morning, snuggled up in bed, as well.) And since the book I finished yesterday was Fast Food Nation, I’m enjoying reading a book that celebrates food, instead of telling me that I may be eating poop in my beef patties. And, sure, part of the reason I wanted to read this book was because Meryl Streep played Julia Child, but I also love reading about good food, Europe, and a person who really loved and enjoyed life. Plus, I can’t stop from reading the book with Julia’s voice in my head. You’ll notice my raised eyebrows in the picture — a sure sign that I’m being expressive. Actually, after Marc took the picture, I burst into my Julia Child voice and read a few lines, which had Marc laughing hard. I love that voice!
Marc’s made omelettes like that ever since! And this is the link to Meryl’s version.
