Ten Years Later

This is one of my favourite pictures from the week Marc and I got married. He’d been away treeplanting all summer, but left early so he could be around for a week and a bit before the wedding. The scary thing is is that I had gone to a tanning bed most of the summer because I knew I’d be the one in the white dress standing next to the guy who had spent literally three months outside. Yet, look at how pale I still am! But I love this picture of us standing beside the basket of flowers (likely from my Grandpa) at my parents’ front door.

Which is why we took THIS picture as we were going to the car on our way to England this summer. It’s a bit dark, but do you see the basket of flowers behind us (even with the same red geraniums!)? What a difference ten years makes. Granted back when we got married Marc and I didn’t know what kind of vocations we were going to pursue, but we always knew we wanted to have a family. So, in that sense, ten years later we are where we expected ourselves to be. But pictures like this sure show how life changes.

I love looking back at where we’ve been. Back when we got married we had no jobs never mind an idea of where we’d be in 10 years. It’s been such an adventure though!
I wonder what your pic will look like in another 10 years?

It’s amazing how little different you both look, despite the crowd of small people around you both. Happy memories for you.

Love this post. Also, beware of Luke because I’m pretty sure next year he will be towering over you. Seriously, that little man of yours is TALL! Palmer tried on a pair of the pants you gave us not long ago and you should have seen the visible disappointment when he realized he wasn’t going to be able to wear them for a while since he’s much shorter 😉

Loved this post! I’ve been married for two years and we have no kids yet. I would definitely enjoy to have two pics like these to compare (but I guess I can still wait…hahaha)
