Canada Day 2012

Nice relaxing Canada Day over here. Church. Groceries. Bought a new tent for some possible camping this week. Rested in the afternoon. And a movie at my favourite theatre in Steinbach (well, it’s the only theatre in Steinbach, but it’s my favourite of all the theatres in southern Manitoba). Then Dairy Queen and fireworks.

Realization of the night: I am the kind of person who would rather have a poorer view of the fireworks and a better parking spot to make a quick getaway. However, I am not one of those people who is willing to start walking back to their car, with their backs to the fireworks, before the fireworks are even over for the sake of a quick getaway. Marc is neither of these people and never seems to get concerned about these things. Tonight I linked it with my great love of efficiency and my slight bit of claustrophobia.

Anyway, here’s a picture of the kids today. They were very patriotic — putting on their Canada tattoos before they’d even had breakfast.

And let’s just compare them to five years ago — the first Canada Day we had as a family of five!

    Great pics!

No fireworks here this year due to the thunderstorm. We did, however, manage to sing O Canada!
