Kraft Dinner is like McDonald’s food — you crave it, but once you take a bite you remember that it’s actually quite repulsive.
I have a very easy way to make Kraft Dinner good. You prepare it the way you’re instructed to: the milk, the butter, the magical orange powder. Some people like it runny. I prefer mine creamy. It doesn’t matter. But, my trick is to grate cheese (we always have marble in the house) — maybe a 1/4 cup, and sprinkle parmesan cheese on it, as well. All of a sudden there is real cheese flavour and a bit of texture (besides the general rubbery-ness of Kraft Dinner). To me, it makes a huge difference.
Kraft Dinner and Poptarts. I’m definitely on my way to gaining less weight than my last pregnancy!
I recomend KD with popcorn. It’s really good.
Do you with mixed in with or along side of?
I tried it, mixed it in…great results…great taste! Tried it on the side tastes a bit too much like graded cheese…. to each their tastes. Enjoy!
also beans and KD are really good. You grate the cheese overtop and it creates a complete gooey mess with protein! 🙂
or is it iron? whatever beans are good for.
It’s gas. Gas is what beans are good for.
BWA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Seriously though, I think it’s protein. As well as gas.
Mmmmmmm… I do love KD. I don’t have any fancy tricks with it though. It’s my fave side dish for chicken fingers. Just had that last night, with a caesar salad. Have you ever tried Easy Mac? Don’t. It is awful.
I add it as I eat…so it stays crunchy. So, on the side – ish.
KD + peas. Yum! (really)
I loooooooooove leftover KD. It is one of my favorite foods. I like it re-cooked in the microwave till it gets kinda crunchy. Then I put ketchup on it and serve it with a nice cold glass of milk. Sometimes I make KD and I don’t eat any while it is fresh. I wait till the next day so I can zap it.
No Sugar Honey Iced Tea.
When I was severley sick with my first pregnancy, KD was the only thing I could keep down. It was also easy coming up. Tasted the same too! The doctor told me not to worry because at least I was getting protein. So don’t sweat the craving thing!
I like KD this way – once prepared, put it in a dish, grate the cheese over top and place it in the oven until the cheese melts. If you have a lot of KD (like two boxes) put in one box, add cheese, add the rest, add cheese on top. Mmmm mmmm good!
(We actually used to do this with just plain cooked macaroni. It is much better with the KD!)
Hi there. I like to add cauliflower to it as the pasta is boiling. Or sometimes after it is all cooked and I’m going to add in the milk, and butter etc, I’ll throw in some fresh tomato pieces.
My mom would occasionally add one can of mushroom soup to KD. Talk about creamy! Tasted pretty good too.
the best thing ever you have to try is
add spaghetti sauce in , i do it allt he time with left over spaghetti sauce ,put the cheese milk and butter in still.
Have you ever put popcorn toppings/flavorings on KD? Do it. Its really yummy
good idea i will try it right now because i am currently making kd lol
My Recipe Is make kraft dinner regular…(2 ways ill say ) after uve mixed it all up cheese and all add franks hot saude to it allot for flavor it makes it taste amazing…2nd way my way is instead of milk cause sometimes u out just use franks hot sauce and powder and the reg amount of butter mix that its good … i like to put a spoon of milk also tho when doing that maybe 10ml
I mix it up with half and half and butter, not margarine. And it’s killer good. Another trick I’ve learned is to mix the “sharp” cheese version with the “white” cheese version. Very good.
just prepared it this way, i think im injoying more than any kd ive ever had, as soon as your done straining it add 1/4 cup (aproximitly {i just used the rest}) of parmesan cheese, a heepin spoonfull of butter and a decently heeping spoon of mayo, (im outa milk, its still great without), add the crazy yellow powder, and i topped it off with montreal steak spice a bit of salt and a bit of katchup.
mmmm
p.s.
i was gona add some ranch, till i smelt it and rememberd doin it b4, do not add ranch lol the flavors totally clash, leaving your stumach less full and your kd pot more full.
p.s.s.
franks red hot would make this perfect, 🙁 im outa that to.
People have a bad association with tuna casserole, but try adding a can of decent quality albacore tuna and a good scoop of miracle whip, cream cheese, sour cream, or cottage cheese, any one of them are great in their own ways.
I’d say a quarter cup of mayo or sour cream, and a third to half a cup for cottage cheese or cream cheese.
Kraft has a ton of cream cheese flavours which makes the options great. Dill pickle is awesome with the tuna, and herb and garlic is great too.
I was going to start spouting a bunch of KD ideas, as I know lots, and each can be simple or slightly a bit more work.
Instead I will say this.
Although I don’t want to wave the KD flag too hard, it is the best tasting of macaroni & cheese dinners. Also the most available to most people.
and macaroni and cheese is a very awesome building block of potentially hundreds of simple to gourmet meals.
You could do it from scratch, or buy a box of store brand, or get KD.
Any way, with hardly any creativity, you can have a tasty even healthy meal, just by deciding what to mix in with it. Just because the base of the meal might not be super healthy, adding to it is simple and cheap, and the same goes for taste.
Alright, I’m gonna throw just a few out here even though I said I wasn’t going to!!!
1.Tuna with or without all or any of the following…
a)
b)1 tomato chopped
c)onion(fried, raw)
d)mayo, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese( dill pickle recommended)
2. Wieners with or without all or any of the following…
a)brown beans
b)bacon bits
c)mayo, sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese
3. Ground beef with or without
a)about a half dose of taco seasoning
b)extra cheese
c)anything that goes good with tacos
4.Scrambled eggs(believe it or not)
anything that goes good with eggs!
See where this can go, almost anything is possible with mac & cheese as a starter point.
Done typing lol
Hmmm… KD casserole is great. Bread crumbs, egg, and cooked KD with some onion, ground beef, and real cheese. Stick it in the oven and it’s pretty tasty.
For stove top KD, try adding paprika to give it a smokey taste. Chop up a real tomato! Add real cheese! Mostly the idea is to add organic material to a processed product
kd and cut up bacon!
i like to eat it either in a tortia with taco seasoning and ground beef tamatos and cheese of cold

I recently came across this site and have enjoyed the content. I look forward to future articles and will definitely link to this and tell the people I know. Thanks.
KD with hamburger! ! so delicious.
& probably the best comment on this page!
if u havent tried it, u gotta try it!
prepare ur ground hambuger as if you were making spaghetti minus the veggies, but leave the onion and garlic in! 🙂
I love putting Peas and corn in it with a bit of left over chicken.
I used to eat so much macaroni and cheese, that I can only eat it very, very, very rarely. I prefer the good homemade macaroni and cheese.
use 1 tablespoon of extra butter, one squirt of franks red hot, couple squirts of mustard, and top with pepper ahhhhhhhh yaaaaaaaaaaaa
kraft dinner is delicious with steamed broccoli mixed in! it gives it a bit of crunch! add some ketchup and its the best meal you’ll ever eat!!! my kids love it
Okay. I’ve tried many recipes and this is the best one I’ve come up with.. Beware calorie counters, this one’s a doozie! Though keep in mind I dont use the butter that kd calls for, so thats something haha.
1) Shred some marble cheese, i never measure, i just make sure theres lots to make it gooey and stringy, in addition to the kd ‘cheese’ powder.
2)a tablespoon of ketchup
3) 1/4cup of mayo
4) a dash of surracha chili sauce (i call it rooster sauce, but its similar to franks red hot)
5) milk OR water OR half n half… whatever i have in the fridge. however much you prefer to make it more or less creamy. I never use much 1/2 n 1/2 and when i do i usually cut it with water.
5) parsley- a few dashes
6) Italian seasoning- a few dashes
7) Lots of ground black pepper 🙂
Mix it all up and enjoy. I also agree that brocolli and cauliflower in it is good. I only eat kd a few times a year, but when I do I never eat it the way it comes. It’s a treat considering how many calories it is, so i figure i may as well splurge to the limits. Hope you enjoy too!
Last night I made KD. Now some of you might disagree with this considering that I was just throwing all kinds of stuff in there, but I had grated some cheese on top after the usual cooking method finished. I had also thrown in a processed slice of cheese and I put the stove on simmer while mixing the KD. I also added sriracha sauce to it. It was quite good.
this may sound weird but there was leftover meatloaf in the fridge so I cut it up into really tiny chunks, added it to my KD and added hotsauce. I was in heaven.
