The kids and me, happy, this morning before church:
My sentiments last year, as expressed in a Dairy Queen cake I purchased for me, on behalf of my husband and kids:
Although I’m getting increasingly bitter since we’ve come home tonight and I see a messy house and everyone’s crap waiting for me to pick it up. Note to all you husbands and children: "nothing says I love you better than picking up after yourself".
Amen Sista- Speak it!!! Shout it from the mountain!
Love, I mean, LOVE the cake!!!!
Glad to hear you’re feeling better about ‘the day’ this year. Nice cake btw. Probably nothing could have said it better, right?!
I think the housecleaning would have said it even better than the cake.
I came home after pretty much being away all day to flowers on the coffee table (the other table is covered with all our temporary cooking stuff) and a living room that had been cleaned up! Then we went out for supper and Sara presented me with my favorite chocolate.
Kids do catch on eventually. So wait patiently for the next, well about 18 years!
Dairy Queen could make a fortune. Reeeally crappy start for me, but a really nice end to the day. Of course all anyone was talking about at church was mothers. Note to self for next Mother’s Day, if you’ve been up most of the night with rotten teenagers, don’t go to service or bring lots of kleenex. Glad this year was better for you. I could have used that cake.
My mother’s day at church consisted of leading the worship and then going to check on my two year old in the nursery. He was by himself because his father can’t get prepared to preach after the worship is done if he has to look after a toddler. When I opened the nursery door I discovered that my precious 2 year old had diarhea all the way down his legs and onto the floor. Yes he was in gitch! happy Mother’s day to me!!
That is the proudest big sister I have EVER seen! Your kids are adorable!!
